Love Poem In transit
Do you love me? (the first Greek restaurant wants more dollars than I have)
You do? If you do love me Would you write words to send (that much I do) to send to Zagreb just for me
Thumb raised you hot necked sun Greek carts I wait for ride to Thessaloniki
Your eyes’ tears stubborn wait in Zagreb affect no unoiled tin to tender for Greek coffee
You do love me? If you do love me Then say how much you do love me
“With wings I’d fly above this caustic course to you to lay my body stone hard as if to be some Aztec thing wrenched from human tear strewn ways to lie and scream my chest's holy cries in pain, in angst, in care, no hype I do love you”
Then if you did love me Love would not let passport stamp on him in transit |
